A lot of commercial drivers felt singled out when the U.S. Department of Transportation passed the new ban on handheld cell phones on January 3, 2012. The ban makes it illegal for commercial truck and bus drivers to use a handheld cell phone, extending to holding, dialing or reaching for the phone during interstate travel.
