The VTC700R Backup Camera System is easy to install, set up and use. The monitor is powered by either your 12V lighter socket outlet or by direct wire into the vehicle's 10-36 volt power system. Both power cords are included. The camera gets power from the vehicle's reverse lights or alternate 12-24 volt power source of your choice.
The Effective Range when installed in a vehicle is about sixty feet (60'). The maximum distance this system will function is two hundred feet (200') with a direct line of sight (LOS).
This wireless camera and monitor are perfectly suited for use in most vehicles including vans, RV's as well as semi-trucks. We recommended the camera be installed and tested with the monitor powered from the lighter socket prior to installing and direct wiring the monitor. The best practice when installing on trucks with trailers is to place the camera and monitor on the same side of the vehicle. Obstructions which may interfere with the signal include the vehicle body, tractor trailer and cargo.
The audio and video from the monitor can be output via the included cable into any TV which accepts red/white/yellow A/V inputs.
